Build this great looking 8x12 shed using free plans

With our new deck complete and spring just around the corner, I’m starting to look for shed plans to build a new shed. Our old deck was small, but it housed a nice convenient shed underneath. 

The person who built it used the same vinyl siding as the house and it blended in very well. Since it was under the deck, access to the shed was covered and the door was in a convient location.  So it was also very handy.

When we built the larger deck we decided to use the space under the deck for more living space. We put down a stamped concrete pad and we are looking at installing a hot tub or maybe getting a ping pong table for fun. But we still have all of the stuff that was in the shed. It’s in the garage, under thed and stored in the basemant.

I want to build a classic looking shed and put it near the back fence. It won’t be as convenient but it will be in a spot we don’t use very often so we are not loosing any backyard space.

I also want it to look good because I’m going to use it as a screen to add some privacy in our backyard. Lately, I’ve been doing lots of searching on the Internet and I found a free 8×12 shed plan. My last shed was 10×10 and it was a great size for all of my outdoor and garden stuff. the nice thing about the 8×12 plan is it is a bit longer and it will fit in perfectly where I want to put it.

The plan comes as a PDF, so as long as you have a free PDF viewer you can download and print it.

Are you considering using free shed plans but are not sure if this is the right decision to make?

Planning on building a shed and looking for free blueprints?

In the old days blue prints were printed on large printers and the lines were blue and the finished paper had a blue hue to it.
These days shed blueprints are the same as plans or drawings. So if you are looking for free shed blueprints you can also search for free shed plans.
Why do you need blueprints or plans? Things almost always work better if you have plan. If you have built lots of wood sheds you may not need plans but it can still give you ideas or techniques you have never thought about.

If you search the Internet or head to the library you can find free garden shed plans. And just because it is free does not mean that it will be of a lower quality. In fact, free blueprints are just as good as the ones that you can buy, with the bonus being that you are not going to waste any money on a plan that you may in the end want to change.

Gambrel Roof – Shed Plans

There are many shed plans available from a number of sources, and shed plans gambrel roof are some of the most common. Gambrel roofs are the type of roofs that are found on barns across the country, and they are considered one of the most attractive types of roof available.

It consists of two panels with a break between them, and looks great on any building.
One of the most important features of a gambrel roof is that it has a wealth of storage space. This is why it is so popular in barns, because it provides extra space in which to stack up the hay. However, if it for a shed it will provide a lot more room for storage, especially for taller items.

In terms of appearances, it has a straight ridge which breaks halfway down the slope and becomes steeper. In fact, this is where it gets its name from, because the curve has the appearance of the back leg of a horse, which used to be called a gambrel.
