Camping and the Filberg Festival

This week we are camping at Miracle Beach on Vancouver Island. Miracle Beach is just a little North of Comox. We are camping at the Pacific Playground Campsite. Which isn’t bad, but it is a bit too busy and noisy for us. The heated pool isn’t heated, but there are lots of activities to do in the area.

Earlier in the week I stumbled across an article on the Filberg Festival in a local paper. This year the festival is celebrating 25 years. At first I thought the festival was going to be about movies but it’s actually the largest juried outdoor arts and crafts festival. Not only is there arts and crafts but there is also great food and entertainment.

Friday was the opening day and drove into Comox to check it out. It was $10.00 per adult and the children were free. We wre very impressed with the festival and it was well worth the money. The kids loved the Lego construction area and this gave the adults a bit more time to explore things.

There is over 100 artisans selling everthing from paintings, jewelry, pottery and clothes. There is also over 20 different food tents, with lots of yummy food. If you are in the Comox area this weekend I recommend you head to the Filberg Festival and check it out. Once I’m back home I will add a few pictures and let you know all of the cool things we purchased at the show.
