Re-connecting Drip Irrigation System

After two very hot weeks I finally reconnected our drip irrigation system for our hanging baskets. I rerouted the drip lines from how they were run last year and I also connected up three planter boxes on the deck. The system works very well and I will write a post on the details in the next few days.

I had to get a new Y-Connector for the tap because I broke one of the shut off valves last year when I was putting away the system. I think this is because it was frozen and I tried to twist it and it snapped. I thought I could fix it this year but it's really broken. I got a new brass one from Home Depot and I'll make sure I remove the connector in the early fall this year.

I also picked up a few different Orbit irrigation supplies from for the platner boxes. It was fun to try some new emitters. I took some picture and I will show what worked and what didn't.

The one funny thing about setting up the system is that once it was all connected and I did the initial flow test, it's been raining every since :-( It looks like the sun is coming out now so I will be able to finish the testing and setup the automatic timer.

I hope you have a nice sunny weekend!
